NEW SERIES: Avatar: Legend of Korra

 Did some research after my cousin told me about this. :D I’m excited! 

There has been some fairly confirmed rumors floating around the net about a new Avatar Series (So not a Season 4) set to release entitled Avatar: The Legend of Korra.  The series is rumored to be helmed by original creators Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko (if they weren’t involved it could never live up to expectations). Here are some things that have been rumored / confirmed about the upcoming series.

• Set 100 years after Events of Avatar The Last Airbender (AKA Avatar: The Legend of Aang)
• Korra, a Water Bending Avatar (Female) will be mentored by Aang, who will be like Aangs’ Roku

The only question remaining is when and **ahem”” where the new series will be announced.  The logicial conclusion is SDCC.  Dimartino and Kinietzko recently told Racebendingan official announcement would “hopefully” come sooner than Comic-Con but we’re getting awfully close.

Alot of people want Chloe Moretz, who played Hit Girl in Kick-Ass, to play Toph in the next Airbender movie, but they are also said that TPTB have said that she will be cast as an East Asian actress. Which makes sense to me because you can clearly tell that Toph is of asian decent in the animated show. But, as much as it pains me to say since eve since I found out they were making a movie of the Last Airbender I dreamed of playing Toph, I would have to agree that Chloe would make a very believable Toph. She’s small, sarcastic, spunky and has a certain hidden anger and resentment, and I believe that Chloe could portray that very well. I’m curious as to who they would choose for Toph then, if only an asian actress. There aren’t that many young asian actresses now-a-days. Hm, we’ll see I guess.

(I was wondering this ever since the movie was first coming into public view, now I know and I’m super excited, even more now then when I thought the movie was from the whole show and not just the first season.)

” “The Last Airbender” is a movie trilogy. The movie coming out July 2nd is only based off of the first season or “Book” from the series. It will begin with Katara and Sokka finding Aang in the iceberg at the South Pole and will end with the Fire Nation Siege of the Northern Water Tribe.

The plot is WAY too complicated and intricate for the entire series (a total of over 25 hours) to be scrunched into a 2 hour movie. Toph will however be in the sequel where she will teach Aang earthbending. “
